The origin of many of our traditions, rituals and customs are vague or completely lost to history. However, the Christian sacrament of Eucharist (or Holy Communion) had a specific genesis on a well-known occasion. This tradition was initiated on a Thursday evening nearly twenty centuries ago when Jesus shared his last meal with his apostles when He asked his followers to “do this in remembrance of me.” To view a recording of the Maundy Thursday service commemorating the Last Supper, click on the tab above labeled “Video Sermon Archive” and then select the April 1st entry.
