Each fall First Methodist acknowledges the value and contributions of our local educators through the Teacher Appreciation Ministry. In August the church provides breakfast to teachers and administrators at their school on one of the teacher work days prior to the start of school.
The pastor meets with the professional staff of the school during this meal and offers a Blessing of the Hands of Educators seeking divine assistance for their work ahead and expressing the support of the Cheraw community for their efforts.
The Teacher Appreciation Ministry continues with Teacher Appreciation Sunday in which all educators, active and retired, are recognized from the pulpit during the worship service and recognized for their work.
