Wednesday evening about twenty youth gathered in the fellowship hall for dessert and discussion with friends, family and supporters of their recent efforts at two Salkehatchie Summer Service sites. The event was billed as a “shareholder meeting” to permit the participants to share their experiences and thoughts about their service projects with those who had provided financial support. Many spoke movingly of the effects which their work had upon the homeowners whose homes were significantly improved and all referenced the spiritual gifts they had received as a result of their participation. Each expressed their appreciation for the support of the church which permitted their attendance and the adults who accompanied them. The investors agreed that their returns appeared to be significant and their investment well justified.
