Three local scouts were recently recognized with scholarships awarded by the Boy Scout Committee of First United Methodist which administers local Troop 655 and Pack 653 supported by the FUMC Men’s Club. Michael Ballard, Bradley Moore and Michael Wagnon (left to right) were each awarded a Dan C Stowe Memorial Scholarship named in honor of Stowe who was a member of FUMC and a founder of the scouting program supported by the church. All three scouts were previously awarded the rank of Eagle and all three will enroll at Clemson University in the fall.
