Chesterfield County School District Superintendent, and FUMC member, Dr. Harrison Goodwin will be the featured speaker at the May 8 Wednesday-At-The-First gathering in the fellowship hall. Goodwin will review the varied challenges now facing education in our county some of the school board’s strategies in confronting these. He will also address the resolution of the suit brought by the ACLU against the district last year and its implications for student and staff exercise of their religious freedoms while on campus. This event begins with a meal at 5:30 and a one hour presentation at 6:30.
