The First Annual Jingle Bell Rock Concert produced by the FUMC Youth was successful in raising more than $1,800. The December 8 event drew over 200 to the Theatre on the Green to see the Christian Rock band True Identity and the headliner Karla Davis, a native of Monroe. Davis, accompanying herself on guitar and onstage for just over 100 minutes, performed over twenty of her favorite tunes including those which took her deep into the finals while a contestant on the NBC vocal competition “The Voice.” The youth will be donating $350 to McArn Community Ministry with the remainder of the proceeds supporting the youth ministries of FUMC. Agape Hospice, The Link newspaper, Pee Dee Outfitters, and many volunteers were instrumental in the production. Watch for details on the Second Annual Jingle Bell Rock coming in just twelve months.
