I first remember playing team sports as a child in elementary school. It was Little League baseball in Charlotte. Baseball was never my best sport, but I enjoyed being a part of a team. I would come off the bench to play any position but pitcher, and I enjoyed contributing to the effort in any way possible.
Throughout the years I have enjoyed playing sports and being a member of other teams. For the past eight years I have coached youth soccer and tried my best to put together teams that emphasize cooperation, collaboration, and responsibility.
So, it was with great amazement that I marveled at the teamwork that was on display this past weekend for the fall barbecue. I was astonished with the way that people did their jobs without complaining. I was blown away how everyone had a role and worked together like a well-oiled machine. This church should be proud of itself. I know I was proud of you!
Thank you for the way that everyone participated and contributed in this gigantic undertaking. The entire process was incredible. I cannot wait until the spring barbecue!
In Christ,
Kurt
