On Thursday evening well over a hundred church members and friends of FUMC PreSchool gathered at the Fellowship Hall to enjoy shrimp creole as prepared by Anthony Harris and to bid on fifty-eight interesting and often unique items donated in support of the Methodist PreSchool. Items offered at the auction included piano lessons, topsoil, antique vases, original oil, watercolor and pen-and-ink artwork, cakes and preserves. Jack and Kay Van Deman were the successful bidders in an oral auction for the final item of the evening: Two Nights at the Mills House in Charleston including a Carriage Ride valued at over $750. The final tally was over a hundred amply sated appetites and $4500 in cash raised for the preschool. The PreSchool Board wishes to thank all who participated and eagerly look forward to next year’s Second Annual PreSchool Auction.
