As the fall season is getting closer, I wanted to keep you updated on several special events in the life of our church:

Promotion Sunday is September 8. We will also have a “Blessing of the Backpacks” during that service.We will have the annual “Blessing of the Hands Service” during the morning worship on September 22.

I will soon begin preaching a sermon series in the 11:00 a.m. service concerning life challenges. This series will address topics such as depression, anger, anxiety, fear, and grief.

During the “Genesis” service I will be continuing to preach on “Six Commitments That Can Change Our Lives.” This month it will be about the commitment of giving. The next “Genesis” service will be September 15 at 8:45 am.

Our church’s Charge Conference is scheduled for Sunday, October 20, immediately following the 11:00 am worship service. Committee chairs should be preparing reports and scheduling any necessary meetings as we get ready for this important date.

“Wednesday at the First” will begin again on September 11. Dinner will be served from 5:30 until 6:30 pm. Programming will start at 6:30 pm. The cost for the meal is $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for children with a maximum cap of $21.00 for families.
