Few dry eyes remained among the congregation as the youth offered a tribute to mothers as the May 13 11:00 am worship service. A beautiful montage of video clips captured each student’s unscripted and impromptu response to “What do you like best about your mom?” Joel and Zach Keefe each spoke from the pulpit in thanking their mother and all the ‘beautiful mothers’ in the congregation for ‘civilizing’ them over the past 18 years. They movingly acknowledged their church family as significant in guiding them to their current success and positioning them well for a successful future. Jake Crouse noted how his faith had grown and strengthened and would enable him to more effectively face the challenges that lay ahead. Garrett Pickrel offered words of thanks to his mother, Jensen Tomberlin led the youth in song, Caroline Crouse and Greer Eddins sang an offeratory duet, Jacob Rhode led the congregation in the Lord’s Prayer, Sarah Allen opened the service and led the congregation in prayer, Benson Stubbs read scripture and Mason Tomberlin offered a dismissal. The congregation was justly proud of the seniors and other youth who conducted this service.
