Easter Sunday the congregation was invited to the felowship hall to sign an oversized greeting card to be sent to Rev. Dr. Tim McClendon, former pastor of FUMC during the late eighties and early nineties. Tim was the first-elected clergy delegate to teh General Conference from the South Carolina Annual Conference and was recently nominated for election as a bishop of the United Methodist Church.
General Conference will be held April 24 through May 4 in Tampa Florida. 
Tim is already a leader in the decision-making life of our denomination and will play a significant role at General Conference. The Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference will take place at Lake Junaluska July 18 through 20 at which Tim could be elected and later consecrated as a bishop. Many well-wishers in the congregation took the opportunity Sunday to sign the card conveying our best wishes to Tim in the coming months.
