The confirmation class of six church youth formally completed their studies and were recognized this Sunday during the regular worship service. Seen here just prior to the service are Matthew Wicker, Sarah Allen, Hannah Leach, Kathryn Johnson, Jay Lewis and Alex Lee. The group participated in twenty weekly study sessions led by pastor Paul Wood, Kay Wood and Brandon Buchanan in which they studied the tenets and foundations of their faith in preparation for today’s committment to those beliefs. Six mentors also assisted in this process: Tommy Creech, Scott Eddins, Paige Lockey, Shep Straughn, Anne Townsend and Billy Wicker. The class culminated Sunday with the youth assisting Paul Wood in conducting the worship service, two (Lee & Wicker) receiving baptism, and all six professing their faith before the congregation.
