Halloween Eve proved far more enticing than scary to well over a hundred local kids who dropped by the FUMC parking lot and Fellowship Hall to join in the festivities, games and food known as Trunk or Treat. Costumed children moved from one decorated car trunk to another in the church’s parking lot, taking in the creative efforts of the owners and soliciting sweet treats.
Once they had made the rounds, the kids and their parents were then invited into the Fellowship Hall where more treats awaited them. Prizes were awarded for the Best Costume and for the Best Decorated Trunk. Eight game centers were set up where kids participated in activities of chance and skill with prizes to each participant. The MYF operated a popcorn stand and the Children’s Council served all a hot dog supper. The congregation donated prizes and juice boxes in support of this event.
