A shared future

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13 NIV)

Greetings Friends and First Church Faith Family! It is with great anticipation and abundant joy that I (and Shalom) come to Cheraw to share in the ministry at First UMC. I am thrilled to be appointed as your new pastor and thus I eagerly await the opportunity to get to know each one of you!

July 1st will be my first Sunday at First UMC. Please plan to attend worship that day so that we can celebrate, together, the abundant blessings our loving God continues to bring into our lives through loving relationships, renewed beginnings, and exciting possibilities for the future!

As a pastor, I come to you with this goal: “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction” . (2 Timothy 4:2 NIV) in conjunction with this Scriptural guidance for pastors, I have always personally believed that Christian ministry is a shared labor of love…and thus, I look forward to what we can accomplish together in God’s name at First UMC.

I ask for your intentional prayers during the remainder of this transition time, and most especially as we begin this new chapter together in the life of First UMC.

Abundant blessings!

 – Pastor Kim
