Seven local graduates recently received First Methodist Scholarships funded by endowments from church members. The seven awarded this year went to (pictured left to right): Jake Crouse graduating from Furman University, attending Columbia University this fall and pursuing a Master’s degree in Journalism and receiving the F Garland Streete Scholarship; Sullivan Chapman, Cheraw High, Charleston Southern, Nursing & Geriatric Care, Dr. Maxcy Hook Scholarship; Tony Harris, Cheraw High, USC, Computer Science, C Anthony & Jean L Harris Scholarship; Jake Williamson, Trinity-Byrnes, Spartanburg Methodist, Digital Media, Charlie Scott Laney Jr. Scholarship; Michael Smith, Chesterfield High, Coker College, Sports Studies, Hubert B Norton Scholarship; Joey Plyler, Chesterfield High, Lander University, Math & Engineering, Anne Watson Eutsler Scholarship. Not pictured but also receiving an award was Mason Tomberlin graduating from Cheraw High and attending Winthrop University with a major in Nutrition and receiving the Stephen Scott Burr Scholarship;
