First, I want to thank everyone for the generous gifts given to me, my family, and the church staff this Christmas season. We are all very appreciative of the generosity and blessings shared by this church and its members. Second, the Lenten season begins this month. Please mark your calendars for February 18th for our Ash Wednesday Service at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. You may also want to come and be part of the Lenten Lunches every Wednesday at 12:00 noon during Lent held at First Baptist Church. I will be speaking on March 4th. Third, please plan on joining us for our next Genesis service on February 22nd at 8:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. It is a great time of food, fellowship, and worship in an informal atmosphere with great contemporary Christian music. Finally, we have five confirmands this year that will be traveling with me to Lake Junaluska for a weekend retreat at the end of the month. Please be in prayer for Leighton Becker, Greer Bennett, Lawton Harris, Margaret Jean Harris, and PJ McPherson as they mark this significant event in their faith journey.
