Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith.

It was only about two decades following the death of Jesus that the Apostle Paul felt the need to write a letter of support and encouragement to the people of the Greek city of Thessalonica.  It was addressed to the congregants of a church Paul had established there the previous year and they were becoming somewhat restless and anxious since some of their expectations were not being immediately realized.  Paul’s message was to “keep the faith” and “stay the course.”  Rev. Debra Armstrong suggests that Paul’s message of fidelity to the faith, even in difficult times, is an enduring message as relevant now as it was two millennia ago.  To view Armstrong’s message for this week, click on the tab above labeled “Video Sermon Archive” and select the message for October 18.
