…as we celebrate the powerful spiritual bond between those in heaven and those still on this earth.

In the year 609 AD Pope Boniface IV declared May 13 to be a day of celebration of the words and deeds of the many saints of the Catholic Church. In 736 Pope Gregory III moved this observance to November 1. And following the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, many Christian sects continued this observance and expanded it to include the recognition of lost loved ones now in heaven.

The Rev. Debra Armstrong offers a message on this All Hallow’s Day of both joy and comfort and recognizes those members of First Methodist Church who have gained their heavenly reward in the last year. To view this message, click above on “Video Sermon Archive” and then select “November 1.”
