Local scout seeks help in food bank project

As one of his final requirements for earning scouting’s highest rank, Leighton Becker, member of FUMC and Boy Scout Troop 655, must complete an “Eagle Project” which is of significance and benefit to the community. Becker has chosen to design, purchase and construct new shelving for the McArn Food Bank. He will also complete other carpentry, electrical and plumbing enhancements at the Cheraw facility. The Cheraw High School senior is seeking cash donations to purchase supplies for these improvements and to stock the new shelves once they are completed. If you can help in this effort, forward a check to First United Methodist and in the memo line write “Leighton Becker Eagle Project.”
